In 19th century Korea, two half-brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a peasant revolution against the ruling elite. One, a low-born illegitimate son, fights for the rights of the oppressed, while the other, a member of the pro-Japanese elite, struggles to maintain his family's power and status. As the conflict intensifies, the two brothers must confront their own beliefs and loyalties, and decide where their true allegiances lie.
