White Heat

White Heat is a classic crime drama film that follows the story of Arthur "Cody" Jarrett,, a ruthless and psychotic criminal leader who is obsessed with his mother, "Ma" Jar Jarrett. After Cody and his gang rob a mail train, killing four crew members, Cody is captured and sentenced to prison. However,he soon escapes with the help of an undercover agent Hank Fallon (as "Vic Pardo") whom Cody trusts. The two of them join forces with the gang again, planning to steal a chemical plant's payroll using a Trojan horse tanker truck . Unbeknownst to Cody , Hank has been working with the police, and they ambush tanker truck at the plant. In the intense shootout that follows, Cody realizes Hank has betrayed him and sets off a deadly explosion in a desperate attempt to escape. The film features powerful performances from James Cagney as Cody Jarrett , Virginia Mayo as Verna Jarrett , and Edmond O'Brien as Hank Fallon . Directed by Raoul Walsh , White Heat is a tense thriller that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat. Its memorable dialogue includes "Top of the world!" and "Made it, Ma! Top ofthe world!"
