In a world where ghouls, creatures that feed on human flesh, live among humans in secret, a young man named Ken Kaneki is struggling to find his place. Half-human, half-ghoul, he is shunned by both societies and longs for a sense of belonging. When he is invitied to dine at a special restaurant by a powerful ghoul known as the "Gourmet," Kaneki's life takes a dangerous turn.
