What is La Chartreuse de Parme about? 
In the spring of 1815, young and idealistic Fabrizio Del Dongo flees his home to join Napoleon's troops, who have recently escaped from Elba. His adventure is successful thanks to the help of his charming and cunning aunt, Gina Sanseverina, who is the sister of Fabrizio's father and the widow of Count Pietranera, who died in a duel defending the Emperor. When Fabrizio's father discovers his son's bravery, he fears being accused of treason by the Austrians and, following the suggestion of his other son Ascanio, denounces Fabrizio to the police. Based on the novel of the same name by Stendhal.
