In the heightened tension of the Cold War, a young girl named Joanna is forced to confront her inner demons and the tyrannical rule of her aunt when a biological threat from the Soviet Union traps them and their fellow tenants inside their NYC tenement building. As food supplies dwindle and her aunt's authoritarian grip tightens, Joanna must choose between succumbing to the darkness within her or risking everything to save the people she's come to care about.
