In 1925, during the Japanese occupation of Korea, a legendary hunter named Chun Man-duk is forced out of retirement to track down the last remaining tiger in the country. The tiger, known as the Mountain Lord, has been a symbol of Korean resistance against the Japanese oppressors, and its demise is seen as a way to crush the spirit of the Korean people. Despite his reluctance, Man-duk is drawn into the hunt, driven by a personal connection to the tiger that he has kept hidden for years. As he embarks on the perilous journey through the snow-blasted mountains, Man-duk must confront not only the tiger but also the dark secrets of his past and the harsh realities of the present.
