Hot Pursuit is a 2015 American action comedy film directed by Anne Fletcher and written by David Feeney. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Sofía Vergara, Robert Kazinsky, Matthew Del Negro, and Michael Mosley. The film follows the story of Officer Rose Cooper (Witherspoon), a San Antonio Police Department officer who is assigned to protect Daniella Riva (Vergara), the wife of a drug lord, after her husband is killed. The two women are forced to flee from Texas after they are pursued by corrupt police officers and drug cartel members. Along the way, they encounter a series of misadventures and form an unlikely bond. The film was released on May 8, 2015, by Warner Bros. Pictures and received mixed reviews from critics. Despite this, it was a commercial success, grossing over $140 million worldwide against a budget of $35 million.
