Hanagatami

In a small coastal town in 1941 Japan, a group of teenagers come of age during a tumultuous time. Toshihiko, a 16-year-old boy, moves to Karatsu to attend school and live with his aunt, who is caring for his sick cousin. As he immerses himself in the town's culture and natural beauty, he befriends a group of extraordinary adolescents who are all grappling with the looming threat of war. Through their experiences, they learn about love, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit.
