In the isolated wilderness of 19th-century Haida Gwaii, a charismatic nobleman named Adiits'ii flees into the rainforest after causing the accidental death of his best friend's son. Consumed by guilt and madness, he transforms into Gaagiixid, a supernatural being with an insatiable hunger. When the families return to the island the following summer, they must decide whether to save Adiits'ii from his monstrous form or surrender to Kwa's desire for revenge.
