Eastern Boys

Eastern Boys is a French drama film directed by Robin Campillo, released in 2013. The movie tells the story of Daniel, a middle-aged businessman who lives a lonely life in Paris. One day, he meets Marek, a young Ukrainian immigrant who works the streets in front of the Gare du Nord train station. Daniel invites Marek to his home, but things take an unexpected turn when a group of Eastern European young men, led by their Russian leader Boss, invade Daniel's apartment and party all night long. As the night progresses, Daniel becomes increasingly uncomfortable and helpless, while Marek seems unphased by the situation. The next day, Daniel finds his apartment empty and trashed, and he begins to rebuild his life. Marek returns to Daniel's apartment, offering sex in exchange for money. Daniel agrees but finds himself falling for Marek despite the dangerous situation he's put himself in. Over time, Marek becomes a regular fixture in Daniel's life, learning French and sharing stories about his past. However, their relationship takes a turn when Marek reveals that his name is actually Rouslan and that he trusts Daniel enough to tell him about his difficult past. As Rouslan continues to struggle with his immigration status and his ties to the gang, Daniel suggests that he look for a job and offers to help him start a new life. But their plans are put on hold when Boss discovers Rouslan's attempt to retrieve his passport and holds him captive at their hideout hotel. With Rouslan in danger, Daniel must find a way to rescue him without involving the police, who could deport Rouslan. In a climactic moment, concierge helps Daniel gain access to storage room where Rouslan is being held and they manage to release him without alerting the authorities. The film ends with Rouslan finally beginning his new life with a chance at a better future.
