It's like the Blair witch project only in space! The camera work is awful!

A simple sci-fi horror with just enough scares to keep you interested.

Apollo 18: The Secret Mission to the Moon In December 1974, the crew of the cancelled Apollo 18 mission is informed that it will now proceed as a top secret Department of Defense mission to deliver a classified payload to the Moon. Commander Nathan Walker, Lieutenant Colonel John Grey, and Captain Ben Anderson are launched toward the Moon to place an early warning detector for ICBM attacks from the USSR. As they land on the South Pole of the Moon, they hear strange noises and discover a bloodstained and abandoned Soviet LK lander. They also find footprints that lead them to a dead cosmonaut and a broken space helmet. Walker queries Houston about the Soviet presence, but he is told only to continue with the mission. The following day, they find that the flag they had planted is missing, and their launch is aborted when their lander suffers violent shaking. An inspection reveals extensive damage to the module, and they find non-human tracks outside their lander. Walker feels something moving inside his spacesuit and is horrified as a spider-like creature crawls across the inside of his helmet. Anderson speculates that the true purpose of the "ICBM warning device" is to monitor the aliens, and that it is the source of the interference. As they attempt to switch the device off, they discover it has been destroyed by the aliens. Walker shows signs of a developing infection caused by necrosis) and becomes contentious and paranoid. The mission cameras capture a rock sample moving around in the interior of the lander revealing that the aliens are camouflaged as Moon rocks. Increasingly delusional Walker attempts to destroy their cameras accidentally damaging other controls causing their lander to depressurize Walker becomes agitated believing he should not leave because of bringing the infection back to Earth and causes the rover crash. The creatures pull Walker into the crater while Anderson flees into the Soviet LK lander using its radio contacting USSR Mission Control who connect him to DoD. The Deputy Secretary informs Anderson they cannot allow him to return to Earth admitting knowing about the situation and incorrectly assuming they have been taken over by the extraterrestrial life form. The film ends as a large spider-like creature crawls towards the camera before cutting to black.
