Aferim!

In 19th century Romania, a policeman and his son embark on a journey through the countryside, searching for a runaway Gypsy slave who dared to love a noblewoman. As they encounter various characters along the way, they reveal their own brand of Wit and anger, which exposes the deep-seated racism and intolerance that exists in their society. Aferim! is a critically acclaimed drama that won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, and offers a powerful commentary on the roots of discrimination and bigotry.
