What is Narcos: Mexico about? Toggle content

In the 1980s, the Mexican drug trade was a loose and disorganized confederation of small, independent marijuana growers and dealers. But as Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo (Diego Luna) rises to power, he unifies several territories and builds an infamous drug empire. As the Guadalajara Cartel grows, so does the violence and corruption that comes with it. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Peña) is tasked with taking down Gallardo and his associates, but his assignment proves to be more challenging than he could have ever imagined. With the stakes higher than ever, a small covert squad of operatives is brought in to track down and punish Gallardo and his associates, leading to a thrilling and dangerous cat-and-mouse game. Witness the birth of the Mexican drug war and the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in this gritty and intense new chapter of Narcos.
