The film plays so as to exponentially grow the viewer’s appreciation for the socio-political and artistic anomaly that is Goldin, and Poitras doesn’t need to do much convincing: Goldin is narrating

Laura Poitras levels up with a devastating work of shocking intelligence and still greater emotional power.

...a damning indictment of the US pharmaceutical industry and a touching look at a familial tragedy.

What becomes clear from the film, which vividly details the cultural backdrop as well as Goldin’s work, is that fear has never been part of Goldin’s vocabulary, either creatively or personally.

...a profound film, but it is also a good deal of fun (provided you are not too uptight.)
