The Beguiled

During the American Civil War, a wounded Union soldier named John McBurney is taken in by the headmistress of a Southern girls' boarding school. As he recovers, he becomes the object of the young women's sexual fascination and manipulates them for his own gratification. However, when he refuses to completely comply with their wishes, they make it difficult for him to leave. The soldier's presence leads to jealousy, intrigue, and dangerous situations among the girls. Despite the risks, John decides to stay and continue his relationships with the women, but his charms eventually turn against him. The film explores themes of desire, power, and mistrust amidst the backdrop of war.
