In North Country, a fictionalized account of the first major successful sexual harassment case in the United States, Josey Aimes, a single mother of two, returns to her hometown in northern Minnesota and takes a job at the local iron mine to provide for her family. However, she soon realizes that the male-dominated workplace is hostile towards women, and she and her female coworkers are constantly subjected to sexual harassment and humiliation. Despite the challenges and backlash, Josey decides to take a stand against the harassment and fight for her rights, inspiring her coworkers to join her in their struggle for justice. The film is based on a true story and features an award-winning performance by Charlize Theron as Josey Aimes.
