Life of Crime is a comedy-crime film that follows the story of two small-time crooks, Louis and Ordell, who kidnap the wife of a wealthy real estate developer, Frank Dawson, in hopes of extorting a $1 million ransom. However, their plan takes an unexpected turn when Frank shows no interest in paying the ransom, revealing that he is already planning to divorce his wife and marry his mistress. As the kidnapping spirals out of control, the trio finds themselves in a series of chaotic and hilarious situations. Louis, who has developed a crush on Mickey, tries to protect her from Ordell's nefarious plans, while Mickey herself becomes increasingly fed up with her mundane life and begins to enjoy the excitement of the kidnapping. Meanwhile, Frank's mistress, Melanie, enters the picture and offers to help the kidnappers get $100,000 in exchange for Mickey's safe return. However, things take a dark turn when Ordell decides to kill Mickey after she returns home, without Louis' knowledge. In the end, Louis and Mickey form an unlikely bond, and they escape from Ordell's clutches together. Mickey returns home, but she's no longer interested in her old life. She confronts Frank about the ransom, their divorce papers, and their $1 million... but the outcome is left unclear. Will Mickey choose to stay with Frank or will she pursue a new life with Louis?
