Ford Fairlane is a Los Angeles private investigator specializing in the music business. When a heavy metal band's lead singer dies on stage, Ford is hired by a radio personality to find a mysterious groupie who may be connected to the murder. As Ford delves deeper into the case, he uncovers a web of corruption and murder involving a ruthless record executive, a hitman, and a cast of colorful characters.
