Flight of the Navigator

David Freeman, a 12-year-old boy, embarks on an extraordinary adventure aboard a futuristic spacecraft after a mysterious disappearance. With his newfound navigational powers, he travels the galaxy with a wisecracking robot commander, Max, and a group of bizarre extraterrestrial creatures. David's mission is to collect biological specimens for analysis on the planet Phaelon before returning them to their homes. Along the way, he bonds with a tiny bat-like creature, and his UFO encounters cause a stir on Earth. Fearing institutionalization, David risks vaporization to return to his own time, where he finds everything unchanged.
