In the village of Bil'in, Palestine, a young father named Emad Burnat begins filming his family's life and the resistance movement against Israeli occupation with a camera he purchased in 2005. Over the next five years, he documents the nonviolent struggle led by two of his best friends as they fight against the seizure of their land and the construction of a separation barrier. Emad's camera captures the growth of his son Gibreel and the impact of the conflict on his family and community. As the events escalate, five of Emad's cameras are destroyed by the Israeli army, but each one tells a powerful story of resilience and resistance. In 2009, Emad collaborates with Israeli filmmaker Guy Davidi to create a powerful film that exposes the reality of life under occupation and the power of nonviolent activism.
