41min - Rick and Carl return to the farm but quickly realize that that they are being followed by by a large group of walkers. Mayhem ensues as the humans try to save the farm but they are eventually forced to flee realizing that the it is lost. Several of them do not survive the onslaught and others are separated into small groups. Some are reunited but fed up with the constant bickering and complaints about his leadership, Rick lets it be known that people will now do as they are told. Andrea meanwhile, on her own and separated from the others, is rescued by a hooded stranger.
41min - The group of survivors is organizing the preparation for the winter following the instructions of Rick. Carl is uncomfortable, feeling responsible for the death of Dale and he talks to Shane about what had happened in the swamp. He asks Shane to give the weapon back to Daryl and Shane talks to Rick about the problem. While Rick and Carl are having a conversation, Shane works hard and Lori tells to him that she is not sure whether the baby is his or Rick's. Shane releases Randall and walks with him on the field. Out of the blue, he breaks Randall's neck, hides his body and simulates that Randall has beaten him up. Daryl and T-Dog and Rick and Shane seek Randall in the real estate. When Daryl and Glen find Randall's body, Shane threatens Rick with his weapon, forcing him to defend himself. Carl arrives and draws the gun that his father gave to him.
41min - Daryl interrogates Randall about his group and he learns that they are formed by thirty dangerous men capable to rape two teenage daughters in front of their father. Rick and Shane decide to kill Randall, who is considered a threat to the survivors, but Dale opposes to their decision and Rick summons the group that is supportive to the execution to vote. Dale tries to convince each survivor that they must not lose their humanity. Carl is affected by the situation and has strange actions: first he sneaks to talk to Randall; then he disrespects Carol with an offensive comment about her beliefs; then he teases a walker that is trapped in the swamp; then he decides to participate in the meeting that will judge of Randall; and finally when Rick is ready to shoot Randall in the head, Carl arrives in the barn affecting Rick. Meanwhile Dale wonders on the field and is surprised by the walker that Carl had made fun of.
41min - Rick and Shane drive 18 miles out far from Hershel's farm to seek a safe place to leave the outsider Randall, who has recovered from the injury to his leg. Rick stops the car at a crossroad and has a serious conversation with Shane about Lori and Carl. When they reach a county prison, they leave Randall with his hands and legs tied and a knife. While pleading for his life, Randall says he knows Maggie. Shane decides to kill him. Rick and Shane fight, and at one point Shane throws a big wrench at Rick that misses him but breaks a window in the building. A swarm of walkers crawl out and attack the humans. They trap Shane in a school bus, and though Rick at first wants to leave him to be killed. he gets the car and goes back to save him. Back at the farm, Beth wants to commit suicide but she is dissuaded by Lori and Maggie. When Andrea offers to keep an eye on Beth, she leaves her alone to reach a decision.
41min - Lori is attacked in her wrecked car by two walkers but she succeeds in killing them. Meanwhile, Rick, Hershel, and Glenn are ready to leave the bar but the friends of Dave and Tony arrive in the town looking for their friends and they are trapped. Rick tries to negotiate a truce with them, but there is a shootout that attracts many walkers to town. At the farm, the survivors find that Lori is missing and Shane drives to find her. When he does, he lies to her and tells her that Rick is safe and sound in the farm. Later he tells her that he did it to protect the baby and Lori. When the walkers arrive in the town, the strangers flee and leave behind one of their friends who is injured. Rick brings him to the farm and Shane is worried that the strangers will find the farm. Lori decides to tell Rick that Shane is dangerous and believes that her baby is his.
41min - After the massacre of the walkers kept by Hershel in his barn, Rick's group decides to bury Sophia and Hershel's family members and burn the other corpses. Beth is in shock with the violence and Hershel vanishes. Rick and Glenn head to town to look for him in the bar. Dale discloses to Lori that he suspects that Shane sacrificed Otis to save his own life and that Shane would be capable of killing someone in the group. Lori decides to find Hershel and drives away in a car. While checking the map, Lori hits a walker and has a serious car accident. Meanwhile two suspicious strangers arrive in the bar and ask many questions about the location of the survivors and Rick feels that they are bringing trouble.
41min - Glenn tells everyone about the walkers in the barn which adds to the tension among the group. Shane is still arguing they should give up any hope of ever finding Sophia while others refuse to leave. With Carl now healthy, Hershel tells Rick that they are to leave by the end of the week. Dale takes action to make their stay safer but it leads to a confrontation with Shane. While Rick helps Hershel rescue two walkers trapped in a bog, Shane prepares to storm the barn and dispatch the walkers.
41min - Now that Glenn knows there are walkers in the barn, Maggie begs him not to tell anyone. Hershel believes that those walkers, which include family members, are just sick and may someday be cured. Hershel's isn't the only secret Glenn is asked to keep as Lori asks him to go into town and get something for her from the pharmacy again. Shane and Andrea head off to a nearby housing development in search of Sophia and their encounter with walkers leads to a new phase in their relationship. Lori finally breaks down and tells Rick that she is pregnant after he finds evidence and confronts her.
41min - Tensions are rising at the Greene farm. Shane thinks they've spent way too much time looking for Sophia and thinks they should abandon the search. Hershel Greene thinks the visitors are becoming too familiar and taking his hospitality for granted. He particularly warns his daughter Maggie not to get involved with n. Daryl sets off on his own to search for Sophia but an unexpected encounter leaves him seriously injured. Lori has confirmed that she is pregnant but hasn't told anyone. Glenn can't quite figure out what Maggie's feelings are and tries to get advice about women from Dale. Glen manages to get Maggie to meet him in the barn late that night but isn't prepared for what he finds.
41min - The survivors arrive at Hershel's farm to camp and he asks them to disarm on his land. They find a walker trapped in a well and they unsuccessfully try to remove it without contaminating the water with its blood. Glenn rides with Maggie to a pharmacy in a nearby town and Lori asks him to bring a special item back for her. After getting the medical supplies, Glenn and Maggie have sex. Shane is disturbed and preparing to train the survivors. Daryl seeks Sophia alone and brings a Cherokee rose to give hope to Carol. When Lori gets her item, she uses it and discovers that her fear has come true.
41min - Carl is near death and with internal bleeding. He is surviving due to the successive blood transfusions, but Rick is getting weaker and weaker. Daryl can not sleep during the night since Carol is weeping all the time. He decides to take a walk with Andrea to seek out Sophia. Meanwhile Shane and Otis are short of ammunition and surrounded by a large number of walkers. They decide to split to take a chance against the zombies. Glenn and T-Dog arrive in the farm and T-Dog's wound is disinfected and treated. When Herchel Greene is ready to operate on Carl, Shane arrives, completely shaken, with the necessary medical supplies. Then he recalls how he was able to survive.
41min - In a flashback sequence, before the zombie apocalypse, Lori is waiting for Carl at school and tells a friend that she had an argument with Rick the night before. Shane arrives and tells her that Rick is in the hospital because of what happened on the road. In the present, Rick runs seeking help, carrying Carl in his arms while Shane follows them with the hunter, Otis, who had accidentally shot Carl. They reach a farm and Carl is attended by an old man called Hershel. He finds that the bullet has shattered into six fragments and he needs Rick's blood for transfusion to Carl. He withdraw one piece, but he concludes that he needs surgical supplies to remove the other five fragments. Shane and Otis head to a school that is surrounded by walkers to get the medical supplies. One of Hershel's daughters rides a horse to find the searchers and brings Lori to the farm. Meanwhile Dale finds that T-Dog's arm is badly infected and he needs antibiotics. The group agrees to split up, some spending the night on the road waiting for Sophia, planning to travel to the farm in the morning, while Glen drives T-Dog to the farm to get him medical help. When Lori finds that Mr. Hershel is a veterinary, she expresses doubt about his ability to save Carl. Meanwhile, Shane and Otis get the necessary supplies but are under siege by dozens of walkers.
41min - The caravan of survivors find the road blocked by smashed-up cars and the cooling water hose of Dale's truck bursts. The group decides to stop to get fuel and supplies from the vehicles but out of the blue, a pack of walkers come in their direction. Dale stays in the top of the truck and the others hide below the cars. Sophia leaves the hideout too soon and two zombies chase her. Rick rushes after the walkers, reaches Sophia and asks her to stay hidden in the bank of a stream. When Rick kills the zombies and returns to Sophia, he does not find the girl anymore in the place. The group organizes a pursuit to seek out the girl.
