Brian tries without success to replace Michael's friendship, while Michael faces problems upon his move-in with David, and Emmett attends a meeting for those wishing to "convert" from gay to straight lifestyles.


Brian throws a gala surprise thirtieth birthday party for Michael, who is newly single, but Brian makes a scene when he outs Michael to his smitten coworker. Ted and Emmett decide to get HIV tests together, but Emmett receives a troubling response from the doctor's office, as Michael visits David to beg for a second chance.

Queens of the Road

During a road trip to New York to retrieve a runaway Justin, Michael makes a momentous decision about his future with David. In the meantime, Melanie and Lindsay's financial situation brings their relationship troubles over custody of baby Gus to a head.

Daddy Dearest (Sonny Boy)

Emmett meets a cyberspace friend in person, Michael prepares to meet David's more sophisticated friends at a dinner party, and Brian wrestles with the choice of whether to give up his parental rights of baby Gus.

Babylon Boomerang

Kicked out of his house and taunted at school, Justin moves in with the extremely reluctant Brian, who test-drives a Jeep through a showroom window when a salesman makes homophobic remarks. Meanwhile, Michael goes on a date with his coworker in order to secure a promotion, but feels guilty for being dishonest.

Smells Like Codependence

Justin's father learns he's gay and forbids him to see Brian, while Brian continues to stew over Michael's new relationship. After Justin's father tries to run Brian off the road, he decides to send his son away to school.

The Art of Desperation

Michael's new chiropractor boyfriend gets into a tug of war with Brian over Michael, as Ted recovers from his O.D. by dating Roger, a stable but overweight chorus director, and Justin meets Lindsay, who is impressed with his artwork.

Now Approaching... The Line

Michael fends off the romantic interest of a female coworker who doesn't know he's gay and instead dates a handsome chiropractor, while Brian is propositioned by a potentially lucrative client of his firm, and Justin struggles to repair his fractured relationship with his mother, Jennifer (Sherry Miller).

Ted's Not Dead

While Ted lies in a drug-induced coma, Brian learns he's named the executor of his friend's living will, Justin's mother suspects the truth about her son's sexuality, and Michael and Emmett try to remove incriminating evidence from Ted's apartment - and discover Ted's longtime crush on Michael.

No Bris, No Shirt, No Service

Michael talks Brian into attending the bris that Lindsay and Melanie are having for his son, Gus, while Justin attempts to make himself noticed at Babylon, and Michael runs into a coworker on the street near some gay bars. Meanwhile, Ted gets lucky with a guy who at first rejects his advances.

Queer, There and Everywhere

Michael stays in the closet at work and struggles with hidden feelings of jealousy over Brian's new relationship with Justin.


Brian picks up a teenager, Justin Taylor (Randy Harrison), but rebuffs the boy's attempts to see him again, on the same night that Brian also learns that Lindsay and Melanie have had a baby boy, Gus, and are planning a bris without consulting him.
