"Tsurune" follows the journey of Minato Narumiya, a high school student who joins the archery club at his new school, Kazemai High, after being convinced by his childhood friends and the club's advisor, Tommy-sensei. Minato has a complicated history with archery, having developed a dysfunction towards the sport after a traumatic incident in his past. Despite his reluctance, he is drawn back into the world of archery and, along with his new teammates Nanao Kisaragi and Kaito Onogi, sets out to overcome his struggles and win the prefectural tournament. Through their journey, the team learns to support each other and grows as individuals, all while discovering the joys and challenges of their youth.
