What is Holy Spider about? 
In the holy city of Mashhad, Iran, a serial killer known as the "Spider Killer" is targeting street prostitutes. Tehran-based journalist Arezoo Rahimi travels to Mashhad to investigate, teaming up with local newspaper editor Sharifi. They uncover the killer's identity as Saeed Azimi, a married father of three and construction worker who claims to be cleansing the city in the name of Imam Reza. Rahimi and Sharifi set a trap for Saeed, but he discovers Rahimi's true identity and she narrowly escapes. Saeed is arrested and sentenced to death, but his execution is met with public support. The film ends with Rahimi returning to Tehran, haunted by video evidence gathered during the case, including an interview with Saeed's teenage son who proudly describes his father's killings.
