In the era of samurai rule in Japan, a group of mysterious masked demons annihilated the majority of the Shinsengumi, a group tasked with maintaining peace and order in Kyoto. Only one member survived, and seven criminals were chosen to replace the fallen Shinsengumi members. Led by Ichibanboshi, whose parents were also killed by the masked demons, they set out to avenge their deaths and restore peace to the city. As the substitutes, they face off against the masked demons in a battle to protect Kyoto and bring justice to those responsible for the tragedy. With their crazy story unfolding, it's time for these unlikely heroes to shine brighter than ever before.
