Love Live! School Idol Project follows the journey of nine high school girls who form a pop idol group to save their school from shutting down. With their school facing closure due to low enrollment, the girls come together with the goal of becoming pop stars and promoting their school to attract new students. Despite facing opposition from the student council president and struggling to recruit new members, the girls work hard to prepare for the Love Live, a competition for the best school idol groups in Japan. With the fate of their school on the line, the girls must use their talents and determination to succeed and save their beloved Otonokizaka High School.
