In the rough and tumble town of Jasper, Missouri, Dalton (Patrick Swayze) is the new sheriff in town - or rather, the new cooler at the Double Deuce, the local watering hole. With his PhD in Philosophy and a black belt in martial arts , Dalton is not your typical bouncer , but he's been hired by the club's owner to clean up its act and bring in a more respectable clientele. However, things take a dangerous turn when Dalton crosses paths with Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), the town's ruthless crime boss who won't hesitate to use violence to maintain his grip on the town . As the stakes get higher , Dalton must confront Wesley and his henchmen in a series of increasingly violent showdowns that will leave no one unscathed . Will Dalton emerge victorious, or will he become the latest casualty of Wesley 's reign of terror ?
