In this action-packed comedy, a mysterious Tibetan monk (Chow Yun-fat) tasked with protecting an ancient scroll with the power to grant its owner immense power, must find a worthy successor. He finds an unlikely candidate in a young pickpocket (Seann William Scott) and trains him in martial arts and the ways of zen Buddhism.
