"42" tells the story of Jackie Robinson, a Negro League baseball player who, in 1945, becomes the first African American player in the Major League when he is signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Faced with racism and discrimination both on and off the field, Robinson must overcome incredible odds to achieve his dream and pave the way for future generations of athletes. With the support of his wife Rachel and the encouragement of Dodgers executive Branch Rickey, Robinson shows tremendous courage and determination, ultimately breaking the color barrier and changing the face of baseball forever.
