The ordeal of a pure young woman, as Rivette conceives it, has an eerie theatricality and mystery, as it dramatises the nature of freedom. It is part melodrama, part erotic memoir.
Pretty good story actually. Has its scary moments that are well shot and executed. Tries to carry the mood of the first conjuring movie but doesn’t quite succeed. Not bad regardless
It may be a familiar old dark castle runaround, but Corin Hardy delivers eerie images and nerve-scraping sound effects. Lapsed Catholics, in particular, will have nun nightmares after this.
